Monthly & quarterly Programs
Duke City Story slam
True stories told on a theme by both Featured & Open Mic Storytellers. Pitch a story or throw your name in the hat! Top scores take home prizes. Every 4th Thursday of the month.
Be it a germ of an idea, a partial story, or completed story that needs a run-through, STNM monthly story crafting events are opportunities to build stories while building community. Held monthly in ABQ and Santa Fe.
tortuga storytelling series
Stories based in the theme of that month’s Tortuga Gallery art show. Showcases professional and semi-professional storytellers, telling in a variety of styles and forms, and includes a post-performance talk back.
annual & special programs
An annual weekend of workshops, networking, camaraderie, and storytelling with partners, Rocky Mountain Storytelling of Colorado.
A worldwide evening of storytelling held every November that creates a network of stories and storytellers connected at the same time and on the same weekend. Produced in partnership with the National Storytelling Network.
STNM offers occasional workshops and workshop series as part of our educational mission. Workshops are geared toward those who want to to improve their storytelling skills and/or who want to learn about the history, art, and practice storytelling.
world storytelling day
A global celebration of storytelling with a goal of as many people as possible around the world telling and listening to stories on the same theme, at the same time. Held annually, traditionally on the March equinox.
