BACKGROUND: Multicultural Storytelling is a powerful tool that can be used to build bridges, heal
wounds, and grow communities while promoting empathy and understanding. It’s also a
conduit for preserving heritage and culture. Stories can pass on a piece of history and
the inherited lessons from ancestors.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN: How to use stories to explore diverse cultures, promote values, and understand our collective heritage, while safeguarding customs and teachings.
WHAT TO BRING: Attendees are asked to bring a recommended reading list, a personal story, and the spirit of adventure.
ABOUT DECEE CORNISH: An Urban Griot, Decee has over 20 years of storytelling experience. His Texas birth right, military travels, sense of humor, and naturally observant nature have given him a broad cultural awareness.
