Theme: MY WAY
The theme for this unique storytelling event, by and for members of the Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico (TGRCNM) community, is wide open for individual interpretation. My Way reflects who you are, how you came to be , and what it means to you to stand strong in your own identity. The possibilities are endless.
FORMAT: FIVE FEATURED & THREE OPEN MIC TELLERS
FEATURED TELLERS: TGRCNM is recruiting up to five featured tellers representing a broad spectrum of folks from within the community.
THREE OPEN MIC slots are wide open! If you have such a story, put your name in the hat early in the evening for a higher chance of being chosen in the random, on stage drawing. (Note: Open Mic slots are reserved for members of the TGRCNM community only for this event.)
OUR GOALS: We hope to honor the transgender and gender nonconforming community while celebrating their stories and raising funds in support of TGRCNM.
FEATURED TELLERS are recruited ahead of time and are provided with story crafting support and a rehearsal before the event with support from Jude Glazner of the TGRCNM, and Sarah Malone & Marvin Cotton, both STNM board members.
Featured tellers get 10-minutes on the mic to tell their story.
OPEN MIC TELLERS can prep their story beforehand or spontaneously put their name in the hat for a chance to tell their 5-minute true story on that month’s theme. Reminder: Open Mic tellers must be members of the TRGCNM community for this event.
