You’re Invited to Be Part of the Story!
There’s something special about a room full of people sharing stories. Laughter travels, new
friendships begin, and everyone has a place to belong.
We would love for you to help create that welcoming spirit at the 2027 Tejas Storytelling Festival.
Location: Denton Civic Center, 321 E. McKinney St., Denton, Texas
This year’s festival brings together 60 storytellers and 26 hours of storytelling. A weekend
pass includes five concerts with featured tellers; 13 storytelling events, including Ghost Tales
and the Liars Contest; three story swaps; a story slam; a poetry slam; 11 workshops; three music concerts; and four youth activities.
It promises to be a lively few days, and volunteers are at the heart of it all.
Perhaps you enjoy greeting people as they arrive, helping guests find their way, or lending a hand behind the scenes. We need volunteers for registration, the story store, silent auction, green room, concessions, the Women’s Building, Library, workshops, lunch setup, festival’s first-day setup, and the master workshop. Whatever role you choose, you’ll help make someone
feel welcome.
Come join us! To volunteer, please share your availability, name and contact information, and
the areas where you’d like to help. One of the great things about volunteering is that you can
witness many events taking place at the festival both during and after your volunteer work. For
