Topic: “LOL”

A common and popular expression these days, LOL. But not as simple as it looks. What is the intonation of that laugh? Mirth? Cynicism? Judgment? There are lots of ways to hear that LOL.

 Got a story? Regale us!

 And speaking of “regale”, a word often associated with storytelling tradition, it’s derived from Old French galer, “to make merry”, from the 17th Century. It’s another form of LOL, we propose.

 But never fear, you don’t need to bring a comedy. Cynicism or judgment is certainly allowed. As are stories that have nothing to do with the topic!

 Traditional or personal, original or literary. We’d love to hear your story.

Eight minutes or less please.

 Your story could be something new you’re developing, or an old favorite. Listeners as well as tellers are welcomed.

 We look forward to gathering with you for the stories.
